Wine dinner on Thursday, March 9 features wines by Rick De Ferrari & David Polite

"If winter comes, can spring be far behind?"

To Our Loyal Customers & Friends,
Winter surely came to our Yamhill Valley this year, breaking records for rainfall and making a competitive showing when it came to snow. Fortunately, longer days and warmer sunshine are soon to be on their way: Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 12
To welcome the return of sunlight, I've teamed up with the good folks at The Barberry restaurant in McMinnville and Rick De Ferrari of De Ferrari Wines for a wine makers' dinner on Thursday, March 9 at 6 pm. Please consider joining us.
Scallops, bacon-braised leeks, lamb ragu, pork tenderloin and creme brulee - all can be yours along with spending the meal getting an earful on wine making from Rick and yours truly. (Email me if you want the menu. I have it.) Each scrumptious plate will be suitably paired with library vintages of Pinot Noir from Carlton Hill Vineyard (2008, 2009 and 2012) and Rose, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from De Ferrari Wines. Order forms will also be available so you can purchase your favorites of the library selections.

That weekend in March will be a fun weekend to be in Yamhill Valley. Carlton restaurants are hosting a weekend-long breakfast fest on March 12 & 13, where you can enjoy breakfast at any time of day. (And if you haven't tried an almond croissant or pecan roll yet from Carlton Bakery, you don't know what you've been missing.) It's also the weekend of the Sip! McMinnville Wine & Food Classic. Consider driving out Thursday for the wine dinner and staying over until Sunday morning to enjoy a full weekend of great food and wine.

Best regards,
David C. Polite
PS: Wine maker Rick De Ferrari is known for making a unique contribution to the Oregon wine industry. Do you know what it is? Email me back with your guess!
